This is a continuing education workshop for Pilates instructors. Cueing and Spotting go hand-in-hand to effectively communicate with our clients. Appropriate touch and hands-on spotting techniques are so important, not just for safety, but also as a tool to give and receive feedback from your clients, which, in turn, will help you better choose your cue. We will discuss options of directional cues and sensory cues, proper spotting techniques to enhance those cues, and how the level and learning style of the client, as well as the goal of each exercise, will help you determine the best approach. Various exercises on the Reformer, Mat, and other apparatus will be used as examples.
